GitHub Pages Deployment

How to make your customizations permanent on GitHub Pages:

  1. Fill out the questionnaire and click "Save & Preview" to test locally
  2. When you're happy with your changes, click "Export" to download site-config.json
  3. Replace the site-config.json file in your GitHub repository with the downloaded file
  4. Commit and push the changes to your repository
  5. GitHub Pages will automatically serve your customized site!

Local preview uses browser storage. For persistent hosting on GitHub Pages, you must commit the exported JSON file to your repo.

To disable customization after deployment:

Create an empty file named customization.disable in your repository root. This will change the button to "Brand Yourself" linking to GitHub. To re-enable customization, simply delete the file.
